Resident Evil 4 Cheat Issue

I have been playing Res4 recently with just the keyboard alone and I was able to make the cheats work. However, now when I try to play with a wireless 360 controller I can't seem to get the ammo cheat working. The game just freezes. Pretty much at my wits end.

Maybe you've activated cheats which only work with a specific controller?
