The solution of pixilated masks problem in this game are pretty easy, I can describe it, but it takes a bit participation of Dolphin developers
which is probably don't care about it at all. But what they really care it's a incredibly epic problems of compatibility between gameboy
and their emu, etc., for example, which is surely much more important things to do...

i think i can be possible make a repack with all textures and it will look good, but the problems start Sad   resident evil 2 -  3 use trasparent textures in low resolution for give scene realism (example the texture when jill start you will see only middle body neccesary for the scene not the whole body), then i make the texture full trasparent and i see all jill polygons like she is floating in the scene , also when the trasparent texture is upscaled  looks bad (similar when you use texture filtering enabled blur spots with lines appear), ok i was thinking "ok if i make trasparent textures again from upscaled images it will work" yes, but not really Sad ,  resident 2 - 3 use trasparent textures scramble by coordinates like this :

that was the trasparency texture is from the first pic, well reconstruct the trasparent textures it will take a lot of work and eyes, too low resolution for determine where part is what part...  well i was thinking crazy ideas like some code or hack for disable texture transparency coordinate (when you use wireframe you will see the parts of that texture) and use new trasparency textures, or more realistic, a tool simillar used by resident evil programers to make this coordinated transparency texture or wharever tecnical name have from the new created; another finding was sometimes new texture appear then reemplaze for a low resolution when i move between scenes. well some wants too see more i recomend waifu2x (google is your friend), also i repack this textures for you can check.

Are you using waifu2x to upscale that background? what presets are you using?

Up this thread!

If we know the pattern used to generate the transparent textures, maybe it is possible.

Looking forward to a HD/4K pack. The filters for upscaling are already available, tough I think some textures will need a manual treatment.

The HD textures won't work with the newest version of dolphin. I'm using the USA version and put the textures in the correct spot, they are png and have the proper GLEE08 name, so whats the problem? RE2's work just fine.

I tested with an older version of Dolphin and it worked fine. But my RE3 textures dont start with "tex1" like RE2s does, could this be why? and how am i supposed to change it?

BTW im not using the actual background textures, just the UI, menus, etc.

Also, cant find the hd texture for "Licensed by Nintendo"...anyone?

But this is amazing.

Okay, following (or foreshadowing, still not sure lol) my post on the RE2 Hi-res pack, I ressurect this one with mostly a repack of Slayer and other posters' work, throwing in it a few new inventory textures (mainly files icons), and adding all the higher res PC backgrounds I could possible find. I also used my work on RE2 to upgrade the RPD backgrounds with better Waifu'ed one straight from RE2 (and edited in consequence for the barred doors mind you) as well as the few 320x240 backgrounds. A shame it's impossible to correctly dump any other textures, because this game is gorgeous but has so much layered textures that it's a blurry mess sometimes.

Besides doing the in-game files, I'm afraid not much more can be done witht this game for now. I still believe that pack makes it the best version though (no wobbles on 3D models, yay ! )

Dumped and saved with the tex1 method but in .png, not.dds, sorry (not a pro user lol). Recommended settings : Dolphin 5.0 (plays without the music bug), IR as high as your PC can handle, OpenGL with DolphinFX post processing at your leisure (tonemapping is a must if the game's too bright as I often see on videos).

If I missed a background, fell free to send me a texture dump (or at least a save next to it) so I can update the pack. Many thanks.

Thank you soo much!! Any chance you could do the same for CVX? For some reason, some textures aren't showing even though it shows they are loaded. Like Jills face and all the inventory items. Backgrounds and menu looks nice though. Your RE2 texture pack works just fine, so i dont think it's on my end..

Yeah it's du to the problem of how Dolphin dumps the textures with this game, basically you can't upgrade some of the UI elements because they're dumped in a new texture each time you get a new item or you drop one in a box. It might be fixed in the future, for now all that can be redone would be the text files and the rolling end credits. I'll eventually do it later.

I don't intend on working on CV:X because I play the HD version on PS3, sorry !
