RE2 or RE3 ? Using PAL or NTSC version of the game ? PAL is stuck at 25 fps (50hz) while NTSC is 30 fps (60hz). If you're running at 25 fps with NTSC, then I need you to post your full PC specs please.

Great work! Thanks a lot! Amazing new experience with original games! Is RE:CV planned also?
Flycast (Dreamcast emu) also support texture dumping and replacement. It can be used for RE2/3/CV and Dino Crisis. Also, I made some test - tried to encode and replace movies inside Gamecube RE2. It look like resolution of 320x320 is hard coded in a dol file, as only this resolution is supported. HVQM4 encoder is available right now. 04-22-2020, 12:27 AM
Hi amazing work thanks! one question to use RE2 and RE3 do i need to have 2 different folders for each game? i mean one emulator for re2 and other emulator for re3 ? or i can just combine all folders put all together and run both games from same emulator? thanks!

You can combine all folders together - I've done that and both work fine! 04-22-2020, 06:50 PM
Using the RE3 version of the emulator, it has more hacks mandatory for RE3 to work correctly.
You can transfer the folder User/Load/Textures/GHA from RE2 to the User/Load/Textures folder of RE3 (next to GLE)
I'm a huge RE fan who just discovered this project but I'm having trouble getting it to run properly.
Up until now, I've been able to run RE2 and RE3 on Dolphin "5.0 9291-dirty" using Direct3D 11 (x2 resolution, no AA) but obviously just in its original form. I downloaded the Seamless HD project and tried to run both games, but the emulator crashes (default settings) with "Failed to create 1024x1024x1 D3D backing texture" followed by "failed to load video backend". If I switch to OpenGL, the game runs but I have a different issue, where the characters polygons are "transparent" from various angles (see attachment where Jill's rifle is visible through her torso!) Is there something I can enable/disable to fix this? I suspect sadly that the root issue for my problems may be my old ATI Radeon video card which I can't do much about at the moment, but I am quite puzzled as to why I can use Direct3D11 outside of this project just fine but it causes a crash and forces me to use OpenGL. (note: on OpenGL, turning on AA instantly causes a crash, not that I want it on;again, works fine on 9291) 05-05-2020, 02:08 AM
Since we used a more recent of the build you're used to have, maybe something developed just can't work properly for you on this more recent build. It's honestly hard to tell. Have you tried running any game on the most recent build ? (that would be 5.0-12013)

I just downloaded the latest dev build (5.0-12015) and ran it with RE3 without setting up anything (no config changes, so presumably it used the defaults). Looked and seemed to run fine... except of course that the audio is glitched to hell (cuts out) but that's because Dolphin is broken for RE2 and RE3 since several versions ago, as is known. Graphics were fine, though. I checked and it was running with Direct3D 11, x2 resolution, AA off, filtering x1. In other words, it seems to be using my same configuration that worked on the old Dolphin build too (does Dolphin pull it's config from a user folder somewhere instead of it's own folders?). I can post a list of every configuration setting checked/unchecked when it's running if that's helpful to troubleshoot my issue? 05-05-2020, 05:04 PM
Our version is entirely portable so no, it should only read config files from its own folder. Still, that's a weird issue, we reintroduced the sound hack and a few custom textures related hacks but nothing more.
Yes please, with your full PC specs, it might help ! |
