Resetting neutral positions with native on

I'm using the mayflash adapter in wii u mode and it works wonderful. The only thing I'd like to do is to make the game not read a soft press on one of the shoulder buttons, however when I do a controller reset with it held in the neutral positions aren't affected. Is there a setting I'm missing or could I request that as a feature in the next build somewhere?

EDIT: Having the controller connected and holding the shoulder button(s) before starting the game seems to work as described above.
