Requesting Windows 7 Riivolution Support or fixes for Dolphin

Greetings,

The last version of dolphin that supported windows 7 actually featured Riivolution hacks capability, but for some reason Mario Kart Fusion v4 only seems to work with dolphin 5.0-16930

any other build before it does not work, the game won't start.

One solution is to to compile/build a custom version of 5.0-16930 using QT5 so it runs on windows,

Or

Somehow fix the last windows 7 dolphin so the Riivolution hacks work.

- another request would be to have the custom build feature very low resolutions (4 player games require very low resolutions to work fast, like 240 by 240)

kind of related, some games seem to run better in windows 7 using the same hardware...

Since you don't seem to know exactly which changes made this mod work, compiling the latest version of Dolphin with QT5 is probably your easiest route. However, you're going to need to learn how to build a custom Dolphin version. This is very niche and I doubt anyone is going to do this for you. Our Build Instructions of Windows will get you started.

...alternatively, don't use an operating system that's 13 years old. Just saying. Dual boot Linux perhaps?

Microsoft doesn't provide support for Windows 7 since early 2020 and as of Dolphin 5.0-16393, neither do we. You're free to use whatever OS you want, but you're on your own if you choose to keep using something we don't provide support anymore. Is it possible to backport Riivolution fixes to Dolphin 5.0-16380, or to compile current Dolphin versions with Qt 5? Maybe it is, maybe not, but as harsh as it sounds, it's really not our problem anymore.

I might be jumping the guns here but I'm closing this thread too. Time to move on...
