I read the Dead End Thrills website a lot, of which there are often Dolphin game screenshots (at the moment as you can see its Okami) where he always writes that he has removed or disabled/hidden the HUD.

I'm very curious how he achieves this but even after a lot of googling I can't seem to find any information about disabling the HUD in Dolphin. and he rarely seems to reply back to messages and queries. I assume it would probably be a different trick for every game, but maybe someone could enlighten me on how I would go about finding these methods.

I'd really like to take some HUD-less screenshots myself in Zelda WindWaker, Mario Galaxy, and Okami

It's very easy.
First, you'll have to turn on Dump Texture, which you can find at the graphics configuration.
Next, open up your game, make sure you have your HUD visible when you're in-game.
Now shutdown your game, then disable the Dump Textures option.

Now head to the following directory: User/Dump/Textures. You'll see a directory with the gameID in there.
Enter it and look for the HUD textures. When you've found them, copy and save the filenames of the textures in a notepad or something.
Now open up Photoshop/Gimp/PDN and create a 1x1 transparant image and save it as these filenames.
Copy these custom textures you've just made to the following folder: User/Load/Textures and place them in the same gameID folder.

In the same graphics configuration, enable Load Custom Textures, open the game and see if it worked.

Ah, thanks Garteal. I've also been looking for this trick for a few days now. Smile
