Hi guys

I have been trying to do a TAS of a wii game using a real wiimote, but everytime I end my recording the file is 1KB and no inputs were recorded. Yet when I try with keyboard controls, it records everything. What am I doing wrong?

This is on the latest build of Dolphin, 5.0 8574

You can't capture recordings of Real Wii Remotes. It doesn't work and will likely never work.

Someone I know said they have managed to do just this on Dolphin 5.0. Are you sure this doesn't work?

Dolphin's "Real Wii Remote" mode definitely doesn't work with making input recordings. You can only use "Emulated Wii Remote", but which kind of physical device you have that hooked up to doesn't matter.

This thread from 2009 talks about recording accelerator values from a real wiimote. Was it possible in older versions?

I don't know much about those old versions, but I would suppose that what that thread says is true. However, the thread is not talking about making input recordings of gameplay, it's talking about recording a short snippet of motion that you then can play back when using an emulated Wii Remote.
