What are the recommended system specs for running the gamecube games at full fps and best graphics? I plan on getting a new computer soon, but I have a budget and can only spend so much. Should I get singe, dual, or quad core, intel or amd? is RAM good at 2GB, or should I go with 4? What opengl version do you require, or what generation chipset, and NVIDIA or ATI GPUs?

a good dual core such as the intel core 2 duo E8500 will probably be sufficient (quad not supported in dolphin) and an ATI radeon HD 4870 for full graphics, this should have full opengl 2.1 and dx 10.1. RAM is probably best at 4GB (its really cheap now) but make sure its 1066 MHz. Hope that helps but it all depends on your budget.

dolphin emulator is cpu dependant. all you need is at least intel core 2duo or amd compatible to get the normal speed. while you need at least 2.0 and above shader support gpu for the playable ogl plugin (nvidia and ati are the preferences, don't try intel).

Well I built the system and it is $155 over my budget. Would the ATO Radeon HD 4670 work?, it has support for opengl 3.0 and directx 10.1.

Also, what would be the amd equivalent, because those are cheaper?

The question is, will you try to run games at resolutions over 1600 * 1200 with Antialiasing filters?
If the answer is no, Radeon HD 4670 is a great choice for Dolphin and many other games.

About good Dual core amd equivalents, you might get an AM2+ compatible motherboard and a Phenom X2 7750BE (2.7ghz, not as good as E8500 though) or you could wait a couple of months till the new Phenom II X2 545 (3.0ghz) or 550 (3.1ghz) arrive *More info*.

If you want your computer for dolphin, any mid-high end dual core is sufficiant. RAM is nice, for a new comp, 4GB is pretty good. as for video card, for dolphin, most models are supported, but a mid-high end GPU is nice as well!

Just dont waste your money on anything like a Quad Core, or Core i7 if you want it for only dolphin, it only uses 2 cores which is more than enough for most other things as well!

Go with the 4670 if the 4870 is outside your budget.
