What? No you don't. You just need a Wiimote connected to your computer and GlovePie.

What? The Wii CC has the same connection interface like the Nunchuck and you can't connect either to a USB slot so you need one of these CC to a USB hub.

Wiimote works too but then you have to fiddle with the bluetooth which is not easy.

So, I'm assuming from the replies, that even with the knockoff Wii "classic controller" I still need a Wiimote? Or, can I use the CC for everything? I still haven't figured it out.

With any classic controller made to work with the wii, you will need some sort of adapter (not a usb hub) or a wiimote+blutooth to use it with a computer.

Of course you can, you just have to configure either in the GC pad section for GC games or in the new wiimote plugin for Wii games. This part I never found out until recently but you can emulate the things like the CC don't have like IR setting, using tilt instead of moving the controller at a certain direction like motion.

Here's an example: http://i55.tinypic.com/14c4i1t.png
1. Here I got two buttons for OR! so I can use both for the same outcome, the reason here is that you need that to get B working in Metroid Other M.

2. Here I got IR configs, I think I use one of the analogues for that and I would say the first since it's X and Y.

3. The hide button was nice, this would hide a cursor as I have an NOT! before it so I have to press the button make it come forth, e.g. not hide (show). I didn't think this was that usual but I found it somewhere to play with, didn't work as good as I had hoped in Metroid Prime 3 though.

4. Here's the extension that makes the CC work in Wii games, you add the nunchuck. Simple as that and you can configure the analogue stick as well as C and Z for it.

5. Here I got tilt as in moving the wiimote in some way, this was for recharging missiles in Metroid Other M which was only possible if you hold the Wiimote horizontal then move it upwards so it's vertical then hold A.

If you had never tried the controller before it's like new, polished Wii version of the SNES controller. I love it! Smile
To avoid confusion; this is what you need to make the CC connect to the PC (which is far more reliable than a bluetooth in my experience): http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51l0Qer5IKL._SL500_AA300_.jpg Price is between 15-20$.

If you wish to play Zelda Skyward Sword or anygame need motion controller, wiimote + nunchuck + motion plus are the best choice.Classic controller is a add on plug into the wiimote which is less use than the other
With PC game you only need Wiimote + Nunchuck and Glovepie

Really is ridiculous play wii games without wiimote-nunchuck... you can emulate up-left-down-right,backward,forward... but... how play zelda (arrow, fishing), or puch out, or tennis, or wii play, or wii party ?.... if you not have wiimote... have pc games and not complicate with a emulate.
