Real Wiimote unable to connect w/ Mac OSX Dolphin 5.0... help?

The title basically tells all. I am currently running Mac OSX Catalina, ver 10.15.6, and even after looking through youtube tutorials, trying to connect my Real wiimote wont seem to work. When I try syncing it to the OS itself via the Bluetooth Preferences, it says it's able to connect, though after loading up a game, it acts as if there's no controller to begin with, as it displays "Wiimote 1 Disconnected" in the top left screen. The fact that Refresh and Continuous scanning options freeze dolphin for me (prolly cuz im on mac), meaning I can't seem to connect my wiimote via dolphin, doesn't help

My Real Wiimote in question is not a Motionplus built-in model (RVL-CNT-01-TR), just the standard edition (RVL-CNT-01).

I've definitely tried, but after installing both the latest beta and visual studio, the beta wont even seem to load. Perhaps i've done something wrong there ?

No error messages when loading the latest beta. After i click on it, it seems to start up the same way other mac applications do (the logo jumps up and down on the sidebar), but it dosent actually load the program.
