So I've been playing Mario Kart Wii on my Macbook Pro (running Windows 7 x64) which seems to be running at full speed, and have Alternate Timings set up for the Wiimote, and have also tried it without, and absolutely can not seem to play a full game without the input being dropped for 1-3 seconds one or more times per track. It's not very fun turning corners and losing control.

I'm using the Macbook's built-in bluetooth, which pairs flawlessly, but I have noticed that the speaker sound is choppy, or non-existent, even when I am close to the computer. I have noticed that I get best results immediately after pairing, and the longer I play, the more interruptions I have (or at least notice).

I've tried using an Xbox 360 controller (with PC adapter) and adapter in an emulated mode (otherwise I use the wiimote and nunchuck), and do not get the dropouts. This is not a lag issue--the controls do not seem to compensate for the interruption in input after input is restored--it just stops working for a second and then goes back to normal.

Can anyone tell me what might be going on with the wiimote dropouts, and a possible remedy? Thanks!

The Wii Remote's speaker won't work correctly when using HLE audio (at least, not until delroth finishes rewriting 90% of HLE), but it should otherwise be working fine. Is it a third-party Wii Remote? Those are always problematic with Dolphin.

Ahh well that explains the speaker issue. But no, it is a Nintendo OEM wii motion plus wiimote.

I'm attempting some troubleshooting by "refreshing" the connection every so often. We'll see how that works.

Well, refreshing the wiimote connection every few minutes appears to keep it synced. Otherwise I get some really terrible dropouts that last as long as a second or two. Also, refreshing the connection mid-game causes the game to not recognize the wiimote input until the game has been restarted, so that workaround really sucks.

Anyone else have a macbook pro running Win 7 x64 in bootcamp who can test this?

Just to follow-up. The Apple Built-In Bluetooth, in bootcamp, at least, is the issue. Disabled the built-in and used another dongle without the hiccups. I'm guessing the built-in one has too much interference since it's right by the Wi-Fi radio.

Problem solved.

Hi. Just to confirm, I have the same issue. I am running Dolphin on a Retina MBP w. Bootcamp (Windows 8). I also use Dolphin under OSX (Mountain Lion) with no issues relating to the Wii mote, so I doubt that the Wi-fi intereference is the problem.
