Hi guys

I am new to Dolphin so go easy on me!

I just today bought a "real" wiimote (although it is a 3rd party one) and nunchuck.

I am having issues trying to get it to work in games (and even the wiimote plugin menu).

Some useful details:

Dolphin x64 svn r5837 (july 5th build)
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
Core i5 750 @ 4.00Ghz
4GB DDR3 1600
Radeon 5870
Belkin USB Bluetooth adapter (F8T016NG)

As you can see the Wiimote+nunchuck combo are recognised (the thing even vibrates when I refresh it from the plugin in Dolphin) but when I point it around in the direction of my wireless sensor bar it doesn't seem to pick up.

Having said that - Madworld seems to work at least in some part as on the tutorial when it says how to do moves (horizontally flicking the wiimote for example to do a chainsaw strike) the game recognizes the command.

However, I have absolutely no cursor/pointer on the menus. Is it simply a setting which I have messed up?

Thank you so much in advance for any help you can lend!

Tom

ummmm

OK...

I tried WiiSports and it looks the like the Wiimote is working but there are two problems:

1) I can't see the actual cursor
2) The position of where the cursor should be feels low, to the left and not wide enough horizontally

This leads me to believe it is settings related. Would someone be so kind as to explain if I can set a global IR Pointer config for all games or do I need custom for each ROM?

Again, apologies for ignorance here.

I seriously don't think it's the settings, the defaults work fine. It's most likely something to do with your sensor bar. Either it is at a weird angle in relation to you, you are not within the working distances or the sensor bar isn't getting enough power. All 3 of these things have happened to me in the past with Dolphin.

Try out this program: http://onakasuita.org/wii/WiinRemote_v2007.1.13.zip and see how the IR Sensor reacts.

Thanks for the reply

Well it seems like with WiinRemote, my unofficial wiimote doesn't register at all but the official wiimote I just went out and bought DOES register (the program lights up the buttons as you press them) however still no IR pointer.

Could my wireless sensor bar be faulty? Does the sensor bar need syncing to the PC somehow?

Any information would be great!

Thanks!

The sensor bar is literally just two (or more) IR LED's, which is just used as a reference point for your wiimote to find the screen, so there's no syncing needed.

By the sound of things, your sensor bar is somehow not working, possibly you need new batteries? You can test out the IR sensor's on your wiimote by using two candles which do the same thing as the sensor bar, just a bit warmer Smile.

Tried the 2 candles and still no IR action in Wiinremote...

The official Wiimote seems to be recognised quicker on Win7 for me than the unofficial one.

Is there anything else I can try? Is it maybe a driver issue for my Belkin bluetooth adapter? Arg I just want it to work Sad

Thanks again

Well - I have fixed it.

I bought a new Sensor bar from Gamestation (UK store) and this new one actually has a USB connection on it to charge from so I'm pretty happy all round.

Thanks for your help - it turns out that first sensor bar I had was a cheap piece of crap so!

i know this is an old thread but rather than create a new one, i thought i would post here as i am having a very similar problem. the difference is, i have tried multiple sensor bars (i soldered my old sensor bar to a 7.5 volt ac adapter, then bought a nextronics usb sensor bar from amazon) and even tried using candles, all to no avail.

i am able to sync the wiimote without issue (using an azio BT dongle and the toshiba v8.00.03 stack). after i sync, an appropriate indicator light remains lit showing that i am using the "A" controller. all my controllers are official wiimotes (the short ones with "wii motionplus inside" on the bottom).

so, i sync my wiimote and start up a game. everything looks and works fine except i have no cursor. the buttons behave as they should and i can navigate game menus with the d-pad. the only thing NOT working seems to be the missing pointer on screen.

i have been trying to get this figured out for several weeks now (ever since our old wii died after only a year), and am completely stumped. any help anyone can offer would be GREATLY appreciated.

well, it appears the problem was neither the sensor bar nor the wiimote but, rather, the lego batman 2 game, itself. i didn't think to try another game until just a few minutes ago (mostly because that was the only game i had). i just got another game (mostly out of desperation) and it seems to work fine. soooo... problem solved, i think.
