Real Wii Remote IR Pointer low/high

Okay, there seems to be one more issue, on menu screens it doesn't seem to want to go all the way to the left or right, no matter how far I move the wii remote, or center it, and if I move the wii remote too far to the left or right when dowsing it awkwardly keeps moving that way and ignores my input for several seconds. is that also normal?
