I've tried different controllers, and some work great while others have sticky triggers. This means, even when I'm not pressing/barely pressing on the triggers, they activate, and unwanted things happen in-game because of it.

I've determined that I have to physically push the triggers down (not down as in pressing the triggers normally; if the controller is flat on the table, I have to push the triggers down towards the ground). I don't know why that is, and I'm trying to see if I can alter the settings in GCPad config to fix this. Does anyone know how? I'm guessing it has something to do with L/R vs L/R Analog, as well as this mysterious threshold business. (I also don't know what analog and threshold really mean)
If you mean (http://www.amazon.com/GC-Controller-Adapter-PC/dp/B0089NVTDM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1357459113&sr=8-3&keywords=gamecube+usb+adapter) <--- That, I'm using the same thing. In fact, I just received it today. Anyway, I'm not quite sure whether you're saying that there is an issue with the controller itself, the adapter, or the software... if it's the adapter or software, maybe we could work it out together. If it is the controller (this is something I just thought of, it may not work), have you tried shimming the upper or lower sides of the shoulder buttons with a bit of paper or something similar?
