wherever you get Black screen on both re2 re3, just press tab or disable fps limit, this happens because fast load, so you must have speed up disk transfer checked right, disable it and you may get less black screen issues on both.
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770 3.4 GHz (3.9 GHz with turbo boost) 4.23GHz with OC
RAM 12GB DDR3

I'd really rather not switch back to the recent dev version, IF, I can help it, as I get insufferable udio stutters whenever I play RE 2 and 3, so it's why I downgraded back to 5.0. No audio stutters at all with 5.0

RE2 works fine without any freezes with 5.0 btw. But not RE3 for some reason. if anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. my settings are below. Thanks.

I had the same issue. I actually forgot I left the game running and after about 5 minutes it resumed and it went past the black screen to the other room. For me, enabeling dual core fixed it completely.
