I am sorry but, it's hard to believe that no one has ever made a solution to Rayman Arena's crash when loading up Battle Stage 2 "Rise and Shrine"

What so-called "solutions" that already exist absolutely do not work. Primarily the idea of boosting CPU Clock to 150% and button mashing A. Does not work. The issue is for some reason caused by a stupid cutscene that occurs when selecting the stage right before the loading screen appears.

Can this please get fixed once and for all? Literally cannot play half of the game because of this stupid bug/crash. And there are no videos of anyone demonstrating this fix, if there is one. Why has this issue been around for so long?

I remember the last time I tried playing this game, and quitting because of the same issue was back in 2013. Ridiculous.

If my system information is STILL required here it is:

Windows 10 Pro
i9-9900K
RTX 2070
32GB Ram
NZXT H200i, ASROCK Z390M-ITX
Samsung 970 EVO Plus

Since Dolphin is an open source emulator supported by the community, the devs just work on what they want to work on. Can't force them to work on a problem if they don't want to.

If you read the various threads about this issue, the devs looked into it a few years ago. Something in that cut-scene throws an unknown op-code, and they don't know why. If they can't figure out why, they can't fix it. And then when they couldn't figure it out they moved on to fixing other problems in Dolphin.

You're more than welcome to look into the issue yourself if you'd like to. If you can find out anything as to why it fails it would be a big help in solving the problem. But moaning and complaining about the issue won't get it solved.

Yeah, we investigated it, it's an unknown timing issue. No one knows what's wrong. I'm not trying to sound condescending, but if you want it fixed, it might be up to you or other fans of the game to investigate and try to reverse engineer the game. A majority of these one-off, difficult to solve bugs are solved by single people or fans of the games by investigating and figuring out what is actually going wrong. I probably spent 20+ hours on my own working on it and I have no further ideas for what to do. I've gotten past the crash a few times, but it's just by hacking the CPU clock rate and mashing start at different times and hoping for the best.

Sorry that the game you want to play doesn't work, it sucks and I know it can be frustrating. But sometimes that's just how it is when a game does something really weird and unknown.

I understand, it's amazing that no one's been able to figure it out in 10 years or so. Sucks that you spent so much time on it and still couldn't figure it out. Oh well, thanks for responding at least.

These types of problems aren't actually all that uncommon in emulation. Each year, there are probably dozens of specific games or bits of hardware that were broken or unemulated for long periods of time (sometimes decades) until someone comes along and does the research.

If the workaround that sometimes works is overclocking the emulated cpu, then maybe you can increase the chance of it working by slowing down the gpu? So increase the internal resolution to a point where you get less than full speed. I'd recommend setting up hotkeys for this.

If i was good at this, i'd want to look at the cpu-gpu-thread stuff for single core mode. I have my wories about Dolphin not being correct on how it's split up, maybe the cpu thread chunks need to be smaller or something.

I actually have no idea but this person here, in this video just went through Rise and Srhine like if it was a breeze, I actually don't know how, it is pretty recent, are there any news about this?

It is a showcase of an HD texture pack and it looks like there is some sort of widescreen hack being used, because in the character selection screen Henchman 800 is misplaced. Other than that, I don't know.
Here's the link to the video if you want to see it.

I asked in the comments what was going on and i'm awaiting for a response
(And I doubt it could be something related to the european release of the game if there is one)

Also I registered just for this, this is my first post.

The crash has been finally solved, In the video's comments Russell Baldwin responded to our confused comments saying that he found the solution, he actually did, I tested it, tried TAS Input with the A Button (Which worked) and did some other things.
Basically start the game without Dual Core (It's not that demanding anyways) Go to Rise and Shrine and when you are about to start the level change the CPU clock rate to 400% (The max, and don't worry, it doesn't break anything) Start the level and Spam A OR Start the level using TAS input with Enable Controller Input enabled, for it to work you just have to right click the A Button box and a black square should appear. The game will start spamming A, starting the level and the loading screen, and when it ends the level will play normally, also uncheck the A Button in the countdown and start playing, otherwise your character will start breakdancing. TAS Input assures 100% success rate for me at least.
Tested in build 12247 and should work in the newer ones.
