Maylmilae, what did you think of the story in Iconoclasts? Just curious what other reactions were.

Very good! The story doesn't just say itself to you; it demands that you pay attention to pick up the hints that it gives, explore to find the rest of the pieces, and then put it all together yourself. I really like that kind of lore exploration, so I really enjoyed that it did that. So when the "big reveal" happened at the very end of the game, it made perfect sense to me based on what they were building up.

Yeeee more love for Iconoclasts, I love it too \o/ Story and characters are really nice, gameplay is not as deep as Metroid but good enough. I have to say I did not really understand the end game, I'm a little simple-minded.
Also, I still didn't complete it 100%, I'm focusing on speedruns. I'm probably gonna buy it on Limited run games. Talking about Metroidvanias, be sure to check Momodora Reverie Under The Moonlight too !
From France with love.

Luckily there is an easy mode... Perhaps a bit too easy... It has quite the atmosphere, especially during the finale section. Uhh yeah... It seems I am the only one here struggling with finishing Iconoclasts. Here is another recommendation, even on Switch. Minit. The game where you play it one minute at a time before you die and start over. Don't worry about losing your progress or getting stressed out by the timer. The goal all the time is to reach some form of checkpoint within that single minute, to gradually make your way to the end with your arsenal. It a bit like Majora's Mask, where you have an infinite amount of retries and no loss of substantial progress. It is quite short through, I think I did 2 hours on it... Even then I was quite relaxed on it. You can speedrun it literately in minutes. You also sort of have to love the black-white color palette. Which can be confusing sometimes, but apart from that the graphics certainly have an unique look. I would say, sweet and short. 10-12-2018, 10:43 AM
I like Iconoclasts as a whole. Definitely a great game. I ask about the story because some of the finer details were kinda patchy for me. I was very attentive when playing, and when I was finished with the game I had my own idea of the overall lore, but I needed to fill in a bunch of gaps by reading stuff online. One thing I will say that surprised me was...
