The only potential issue is that often SSD-by-default laptops have thinner slots than normal. If your slot is only 9mm thick, that's thinner than the official specification, but I'm not sure I've seen a drive as thick as the official specification. Most 2.5" drives will say how thick they are in the product description, so you just need to check anything you buy is going to fit.
As the thing's broken just six months after you bought it, though, I'd be very surprised if it wasn't under warranty any more.
The issue with warranty is i bought the laptop from Amazon via a 3rd party. Many products on Amazon and the like cannot be shipped to my location, but the 3rd party i used is basically a company that is American based that can buy products on your behalf and ship them to anywhere in my country. The only catch is that you won't be given warranty for the product, which is understandable since they'll be dealing with a lot of people and shipping back to the manufacturer from here will cost a mini fortune.
I'll look up the drive bay specification again and confirm if its 9mm.
EDIT: It says "This bracket supports a 2.5" drive that is 7 or 9.5 millimeters thick"
