Well it seems I've escaped that, then. Interestingly, HaveIBeenPwned doesn't say that my email or username is associated with any plaintext dumps, even though I know the Nexus one has been decrypted.

Anyway, contrary to somebody else's advice on this thread, I only reuse passwords on random, probably insecure websites. I truly, honestly don't care if somebody impersonates me on some random useless site I registered to 3 years ago and never came back.

Also, apparently howsecureismypassword.net is rather naive, as keepass clearly report different password of mine as having different entropy (e.g. 117 vs 110 bits), whereas the website reports the same "558 Quadrillion Years" for all of them.

EDIT: On second thought, I'm not actually sure whether keepass's measurements even make sense. Could an algorithm take advantage of a lower entropy in a password if all that's initially known is the length and character set? E.g. dictionary attacks aside, is an 18-character alphanumeric case-insensitive password that's "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" (about 5.2 bits if my back-of-the-envelope estimate is sane) really less secure than "8a2ssk1cu0mxsaal7q" (84 bits according to keepass)?

I've double checked, and the Nexus breach was apparently in 2013 (although it may have been ongoing up to that point), but the security hole was secured long before it was discovered in December 2015.

He's either a shitposter/troll, in which case this is the random thread so why not have some fun, or he's genuinely depressed, which is highly, highly unlikely since you don't go to shitpost on an emulation board when you're depressed. So I don't see the harm in having a little fun.
