After spending an obscene amount of time playing Kingdom Hearts 2 FM on PCSX2 this weekend, I have come to really appreciate the polish that Dolphin has compared to PCSX2 and other emulators.

Yeah, PCSX2 on Linux. I've complained a lot about it before (only software renderer was stable, the OpenGL hardware renderer used to be more miss than hit). A lot of work has been done recently though; I can play a lot more titles using OpenGL. But if you want to feel like an emulator is under-loved, try some of the older pre 1.0 releases on Linux. If you've used the Windows version, it'll drive you nuts.

I've used those releases. Colors are funky, things dont render right, lovely broken scenes, etc

Yes, feel my pain :p
Only a handful of games used to play really well, at least in my experience. Thankfully it's changed. Never thought I'd be able to play MGS3 on my PC. I can play most games just fine. It's great that dumping my games can be done with a standard DVD drive, so I just browse my collection, dump, and run, much like my PSX collection. Still, you're right, most emulator don't have the polish of Dolphin, but then again, most emulators don't have the thousands of hours of programming and user feedback. PPSSPP is slick though, and it's matured really fast. I guess that's what you get when you're talking about Henrik Rydgård. 10-20-2014, 03:43 PM
All praise the glory of PPSSPP, the only other emulator that is at the level of Dolphin. Its also great on mobile devices. And thank God we no longer have to use Jpcsp.
Besides using Wii64 and an N64 emulator, what's another way to play Super Mario Star Road on Dolphin? Can I use some kind of wad converter to play Super Mario Star Road on Dolphin?
