I think it's legal. If that happens I think it's the fault of the delivery company instead.

If they don't say anything, you don't say anything.
GameStop gave me a free copy of Pandora's Tower because their system said I had paid for it already. If their system says everything looks good, I'm not going to argue with them. 05-01-2014, 01:44 AM
I don't care to post this anywhere in particular, so I thought I'd share here. I poked around with the Direct3D back-end for the first time in ages and noticed a marked drop in image quality. Wind Waker looked horribly aliased, even with 6xIR and 4xAA!
Here is an Imgur album showcasing the differences. Don't worry; I've set the images to not compress and they're exactly the same quality as the original screenshots. Some of the differences are drastic. You'll that noticeDirect3D has that nasty aliasing at 6xIR and 4xAA as I mentioned previously. It looks like vomit with 4xIR and 0xAA, which is probably close to what most Dolphin users will have it set to. Even adding 4xAA doesn't help much. Let's take a look at OpenGL. First off, we have simple 4xIR. It looks blurry and aliased, just like Direct3D at the same settings, as already shown. Let's take a look at OpenGL's 6xIR. Hey, that doesn't look half-bad! Still a hair aliased, though, so let's add 4xAA and call it a day. Here's the best comparison between Direct3D at 6xIR + 4xAA and OpenGL with the same IR and level of anti-aliasing: Spoiler: 05-01-2014, 04:27 PM
I've been thinking.
Let's assume Nintendo learns from the WiiU flop. What if they happened to make a x86_64 platform console? Obviously, CPU's in the future will be much faster. Assuming Wii/GC can be emulated very well already on a 400$ PC, what if Nintendo announced a Linux x86 based machine in some years? Good graphics and backwards compatiblity would seal the deal for me But it's Nintendo, that will never happen. Like Mario Sunshine 2. Or DVD playback, which is why no one buys the console as their main one. Kodiack Wrote:Wind Waker looked horribly aliased, even with 6xIR and 4xAA! The filtering that dolphin uses for Internal Resolution is NOT SSAA, and should not be used as much. If you are expecting to raise the Internal Resolution for antialiasing you're going to be disappointed. Just use SSAA. Spoiler: Anti-Ultimate Wrote:I've been thinking. I'd just like to point out the obvious hypocrisy here. By wanting Mario Sunshine 2, you are suggesting you really like the GameCube, yes? Well, the GameCube was a "flop", much like the Wii U is now. So you are basically saying that you want Nintendo to stop being Nintendo because they made damn fine games the last time they were in this exact same position, and they need to "learn from that". Hmm. Sounds like you want worse games to me. How about you just leave Nintendo alone and enjoy their games, or not, as they are presented to you? How are you supposed to enjoy the creations that come from them if you are burdened by all this judgmental crap about what they should and shouldn't be doing? Who the hell cares! They make great games! Enjoy Nintendo for what it is! Anti-Ultimate Wrote:Or DVD playback, which is why no one buys the console as their main one. 2001 called, they want their arguments back. That doesn't mean they can't make a better game than Galaxy out of that. Mario Sunshine was a pretty good game and even got similiar review scores compared to Mario Galaxy. What if let's say you had a bad date with a girl and went gay? DVD playback/Blu-Ray playback also is still important. No one wants to have 5 thousand fucking devices at home (SAT receiver/cablebox, dvd/blu-ray player console, hi-fi whateva). This is why many people even choose a PS4 over the Xbone, simply because on the Xbone Netflix requires Xbox Live. No one uses their WiiU as their main console just because of this. Nintendo needs to realise to go with the times. They're still in 2005. Their online sucks, their social network sucks, the WiiU menu is slower than a tortoise. The higher internal resolution will reduce jagged edges up until roughly native resolution, and then it sees diminishing returns quite quickly. Wind Waker, however, sees drastically improved image quality at higher internal resolutions thanks to scaled EFB copies and due to the way it relies on resolution to handle its "depth of field" effects. Also, even with SSAA, Direct3D still looks far worse than OpenGL, at least in Wind Waker. 05-01-2014, 05:41 PM

That's so obviously wrong there isn't even a point in addressing it. Maybe NaturalViolence will brave it. I'm out. Maybe in the US, where you got Netflix shoved up your ass. Europe doesn't have any of that, thanks to shitty laws. Everything other than America still relies on DVDs/Blu-Rays if you don't want to go the old yarr harr way.
