I don't have a 120 hz display and will not get one. Passive 3d uses alternating lines of fixed polarized. Active 3d uses glasses that allow one eye at a time. Hybrid 3d (there was this overpriced 120hz one for projectors) if it existed, would polarize the signal on alternating frames using a liquid crystal panel, then use linear polarized glasses at right angles.

Wow. After that response I completely understand NV's frustration, and it's apparent I made a huge mistake in getting involved. I'm bailing. Good luck have fun.

Yeah, I'd buy it.
Also, yeah. Most of the people here are trying to use the website for ObamaCare.

Google Maps: Pokemon Challenge. This looks pretty awesome. Too bad I don't even have a smartphone to participate.
Good luck to all participants and may the best one become the Google Pokemon Master. Yes I know it's their Aprils Fools. 04-01-2014, 06:01 AM
In practice it's just finding pokemons in random spots on google maps and tapping on them. Not that awesome.
The video is pretty cool though. 04-01-2014, 07:05 AM
That would literally be the only use I'd have for a smartphone TBH, so I'm not gonna do it since I don't have one... Looks fun though, for those that do.
But, 1) what delroth said, and 2) the winner will be a guy with waaay too much time on their hands and who can afford to travel and dedicate himself to this. Normal people probably barely have a chance. Unless, of course, all you have to do is wait till the pokemon you don't already have spawn within a 15 minutes driving radius and go get them, in which case it's kinda lame. 04-01-2014, 04:00 PM
Ah, I see, that's disappointing but understandable.
I do see opportunity for a similar game in AR when the technology becomes more accessible. Though I think VR will be more interesting. Did anyone here order a DK2? |
