A bit of negligence on our part also. In our country houses are fenced for security reasons, however last year one of our neighbors was performing some constructions and brought down a section of the wall, we brought it back up but we didn't make it as high as it was previously so it was scalable with a ladder. We have a person working as security but he said he slept through the whole thing. Anyways, they scaled over the fence, broke a window, and took some electronics; the 50" LCD, a DVD player and the PS3 console (that doesn't work anymore) together with the 2 controllers and 9 games.

Well what happened was one of the ear pieces broke off so I used super glue and duct tape to hold it back together :3 . If however that does not hold up I did just put $100 in the bank I was planing on saving for a computer in a few years.

I'm serious. Why are there no 30FPS alternating-frame polarized displays? I mean just replace the transmitter with a polarizing screen in front of the display that alternates between CCW and CW polarization. Why has nobody done that?

In projector's it's AFAIK done with a spinning disk, half of which has CW, and the other half with CCW which does 30Hz rotation so every frame gets a different half of the disk to the previous one. To get the same effect with a TV you'd need a TV-sized disk spinning in front of it.

It is ok if I find this hilarious? Mine's not quite that bad but she definitely doesn't approve.

She might just be sad that you're all grown up and independent now. And that kind of request is a reminder of that fact to her. Mothers miss caring for children. When my sister left my mom got two cats to replace her. When I left she got three dogs (clearly this means I'm more important ).

I would feel very bad asking for something so expensive. They would probably buy it for me, they're that generous. First world problems I guess. I try pretty hard to earn things in life and so I have a tendency to turn anyone down that offers to give things to me. That's just how I am.

Listen to what you're proposing. A sheet of material that acts as a light polarity filter and can instantly switch between two different very specific material properties. That's some pretty advanced physics/chemistry. As far as I know scientists haven't been able to produce anything like this yet.

No, i'm 22 and have never had a job. I'm used to living with no money whatsoever, so i've gotten so well at entertaining myself without spending any money, that there's not really anything i want. At least, nothing that doesn't cost too much to ask for.


Actually i recently started the process to get on SSI, and i'm kind of scared about what i'll even do with the money. You can't have more than $2000 in savings or you no longer qualify, and it's like $470/mo. Not sure how i will spend all that, once i've needlessly upgraded my computer.
