This was posted elsewhere but it's funny so I thought I would re-post it here.

I want to try one, and if it's as good as it looks like it's going to be, I'll spend way too much money on my own.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional

If it's designed for SteamOS, then it's bound to have Linux kernel modules (new or otherwise) for it. I'd like to try it on some emulators, namely Desmume.

@MaJoR
What's that from? Edit: That A/B/X/Y button placement.....why? Why would they do that?

Tsk Tsk, I thought you of all people would appreciate obscure 80s movies.

The trackpads I can sort of buy, but the button placement is god awful. There's actually some method to their madness (I hope). My guess is that they needed the larger circular trackpads to increase the input range (which needs to be very fine and percise for some PC games), but that takes up button real-estate. They could have moved the trackpads inward and put the buttons (all of them really) on the left and right sides, a la PS style controllers, but perhaps the thumbs wouldn't rest naturally enough given the controller's grips (pure speculation). Instead they choose to have the buttons on the inner central part of the controller, which makes sense; you're thumbs are probably going to tilt that way when you hold most controllers. It's still amazingly unfamiliar, and it would take a lot of practice, but then again, so did the N64 depending on which games you played (FPS games, I'm looking at you). |
