I just told you Windows is a no-no. I need to boot into it headless (think CLI only, with access to some sort of framebuffer like fbcon) or if that isn't an option I need to boot it without a desktop environment. It's somewhat for performance, but the underlying OS needs to be hidden as much as possible. Linux distros are the easiest for me personally to work with.
Again, I know people will probably boot many Linux distros on tablets running Atom in the future, but I don't like the long, thin form factor of tablets for an emu-console. I'd rather have something that's small, but doesn't have such long/wide base. Space is a consideration, since my current emu-console is already competing against a Wii, PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360 all hooked up to the same TV. Little boxes are my ideal footprint size for device. The ODROID-U2 fits in my hand, smaller than a tennis ball.
Also, aren't the Pentiums going to offer faster clocks than the Atoms? This is also an important decision for me. Power consumption, not so much.
