AMD should just do a kickstarter. I would be more efficient to get money from the fanboys. Pledge $999 get an AMD Me shirt, Hector Ruiz's book and a CPU signed by Dirk Meyer; pledge $1999 we'll add in a 7990 über edition.

YES BABY!!
Finally started my new job today as a mechanic/fitter/grease monkey in the heavy industry and I freaking love it. No computers, programming or f***tards that can screw with me now. Time to work on my biceps! I had another job going on as I mentioned a while ago as a gas station store clerk but the guy needed someone that he could get recruitment fundings for. F*** dishonest guys like that that only wants to use people for almost free labor. 07-09-2013, 02:44 AM

It just seems like a big gimmick. Let's take a look at the past: PlayStation 2 EyeToy = has a whopping list of 20 games that work fully with it, there were other games that had the option to use partially/control menus with. PlayStation Move was supposed to a "game changer" = it was alright, but nothing special. Virtual Boy = overall it seemed like a good idea, but ti was a failure. Very small game library (due to lack of sales I suppose) Wiimote/Nunchuck was supposed to be a whole new experience = it turned out to be a nice change of pace, but for the most part it just made controls more awkward and your arms (dependant on health) tire out faster. My point being: it'll be a nice toy to screw around with for a few months at most, but later on it'll end up in your closet or wherever your old electronics go to die. I just don't see it. 07-09-2013, 02:54 AM
That's a good argument on it. The way I was looking at it was the fact that it works with the oculus and that buying an oculus, omni, and motion tracking or using their prebuilt tracking will cost less than 1000 dollars. You won't be able to walk in any store and get them yet, but they seem like good ideas relatively cheap to previous methods of VR. And honestly I'm sort of excited because since I had all this free time playing games I'm starting to gain fat. I don't look it yet(thank god for being 6ft 6in) but I know if I kept this up till next summer it's a decent possibility I will and with the omni I'd actually get some exercise while I play games.

I'm not sure if the thought of exercise while gaming has sold the idea to me, or made me hate it. In a session of Skyrim I can walk a good few miles, and when I'm trying to be lazy, that wouldn't help.
