The title of that article may just be off. In the article it reads “In unveiling the world’s first 5 GHz 8-core CPU".
The ibm cpu was a dual core processor. So either way, even if it wasn't the first consumer bought processor dual core 5ghz processor; it is the world's first consumer bought 5ghz 8 core processor.

Also, I'd like an answer to this question if someone feels like sharing. I know that being a computer science major will require a lot of math classes, but I just went on to the website of the university I'l be attending and according to it the only math classes I'd have to take are Calculus 1 and Statistics. I always assumed that for this major it required a butt load of math classes, does anyone elses college they are attending/attended require only those 2 classes or not many math classes?
