- It says in the mark scheme for the coursework that any code which is 'drag and dropped' or copy and pasted can't be awarded marks. As he knows what software everyone uses to write the code, if anything looks suspiciously like the automatically generated code from the IDE, he has to assume it was taken from one of the many shortcuts an IDE offers, and ignore it. Also, annotation automatically generated by an IDE counts negatively to the annotation marks.
- As mentioned in the words I wrote last time, he had to do 6 months of paperwork and nagging to get even Notepad++ installed. This means that Network Support and Computing aren't friends, so it would be at least this much paperwork again to get anything else installed.
- If I can only use Notepad++ at college, and want consistency between college and home, then how does using a free IDE at home make this possible?
