Read the Dolphin Wiki, there are several known solutions: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=The_Legend_of_Zelda:_The_Wind_Waker#Black.2FGray_Screens

Note, the Hang Item Patch solution doesn't seem to work well, or is hit/miss for many. Pressing Tab (temporarily disabling the framelimit) can work too, so I've heard.

Shonumi: I'm pretty sure the hold-Tab fix was a fluke on my part, I think I just thought the loading screen was taking *just* enough longer than usual to make me panic for a second and try that. Nowadays I know enough to tell that there's no goddamn way that would've actually worked.

Anyway, since crossgrave here is using 4.0 and probably hasn't poked at the game-specific config, this is irrelevant since he's using LLE already and thus he's not talking about the infamous blackscreen hang.

crossgrave: Sounds like the game's just struggling to run at full speed on your end (that Pentium Dual-Core is pretty weak for Dolphin's standards), plus fullscreen is doing stupid stuff. Try overclocking and/or using different video backends (usually OpenGL with "Vertex Streaming Hack" checked produces great results for Nvidia users). Running a 64-bit build of Dolphin would also give you a great speedup, but, of course, you'd have to be running a 64-bit OS. (Feel free to just dual-boot Ubuntu (13.04 x64, remember to use the Nvidia proprietary drivers), Dolphin performs pretty much identically between OSes. It might also fix the fullscreen issues.)

I did try all of the fixes in the wiki. Didnt work. Though after adjusting the frame limit, it seems to have decreased in frequency. Ill try some of the things pauldacheez said too. Thanks.
