My pc is a medium to high end pc
Intel i7 7700k @ 4.2Ghz
Gtx 1060 6GB
16GB DDR4 RAM
500GB SSD
4TB HDD

i have just downloaded Dolphin on my pc and i was testing settings on Mario Kart Wii and Legend of zelda skyward sword
I mostly tested my settings on SS, i wanted to get a solid 30FPS on 4K
I achieved max FPS on SS, but only in start menu

Since Legend Of Zelda SS is a very demanding game i thought any other game at those settings would run buttery smooth, BUT
On Mario kart, i get huge fps drops, which go back to 60FPS
I am talking about drops down to 5FPS sometimes!
When i am in a race, at 4k mario kart is 60FPS and rarely drops as low as 50FPS, sometimes 45
On the main menu though, i cant even go as high as 50FPS, goes as low as 30FPS
Starts stuttering and its really laggy
i know it is not something to do with my setup because i even went on Native resolution, and still the same random drops in FPS
Do you know why this happens?
i see people on youtube with An i5 @ 2.70Ghz and a gtx 960 running Mario Kart, SSMB, LOZ SS, smg, smg2, you name it at  4k at a Crispy Smooth Max FPS!
How do they do this!?

Also i have a big problem with mario kart, in the menu, it has this white line of dead pixes or something and it really bothers me, but when i enter the game, it goes

Can someone help me fix my FPS drops, and also the annoying White line in mario kart?

you can set the directory in the latest dev builds. That functionality works exactly the same as the stable build. Config > Paths

Anyways, your settings look mostly OK.

To rule out a couple things:

- Does it run at full speed when you set the internal resolution to 1x?

- Are your CPU clock speeds at their max when running emulation in Dolphin?

No, same stuff at native resolution

What settings do you recommend amfor all games?
And what is the ishiiruka build?

Perhaps also see if ubershaders "exclusive" helps - it significantly increases the GPU load, but a 1060 should still be more than enough at 1x IR (or even higher, but 1x is fine to test for now). If so, then it's likely shader compilation stutter.

If that helps, you might have luck with the "hybrid" ubershader option and the "dx11" backend - the Nvidia driver has known issues that means "hybrid" doesn't work particularly well on backends other than dx11, so even though it may be "slower" than OpenGL or Vulkan, a 1060 should probably be enough to brute force that anyway, and the compilation stutter differences would still give a better experience.

Do you reckon i should try the ishiiruka build?
How do you install texture packs for games?

I believe the current mainline development versions implementation of ubershaders should have the same stutter avoidance as ishiiruka's async shader compilation, with the advantage of it not causing visual rendering errors. So if it's that issue causing the stutter I don't currently see the advantage of using the non-mainline version.
