Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with random freezing (stuttering is probably a better word) in every game.  The game will run at 60 fps, but randomly pause for anywhere between 1-3 seconds and then continue.  I did not have this on an older laptop that is significantly slower (but had switchable graphics).  Trying to determine if the problem is a lack of a dedicated GPU or shader cache generation as I have seen thrown around here.  Or possibly both. I am also using OpenGL.

Specs if it helps:
G3258 @ 4.2Ghz
Integrated Graphics
HDD

Intel iGPU is not great with OpenGL. Try D3D and see if it still happens

Upgraded to a 1050 ti today and switched to Directx 12 like you suggested... uped resolution and msaa and the issue was gone for a while but eventually resumed.... could it be an issue with the CPU overclock possibly?

Going to try DirectX 11 in a little bit and see if that helps. Otherwise I'll start trying to tweak the overclock

DirectX 11, no cigar. Still periodically freezes. Also didn't note that I haven't tried any wii games yet, only GameCube. This is pretty frustrating but there has to be some sort of fix in the settings.

Thinking I will try the development builds next, will post back here in case anyone else runs into this same issue in the future.

Edit: have eliminated the shaders being a problem as I tried the ishiiuka build which did not make much of a difference. Still 60fps but stutters periodically.

Does anyone have any ideas? Have to think it's something hardware related at this point.
