I'm running Dolphin on Ubuntu Linux 10.10. I installed the glennric version of the program, and it's been working fine. In fact, I was playing Tales of Symphonia two hours ago. I shut it down to take a break, and Ubuntu's update manager upgraded me to the glennric r7339 release. Now, my XBox360 controller isn't working properly. When I choose the GCPad configuration, SDL/0/Microsoft X-Box 360 pad is listed, but assigning the buttons is a strange task. For example, lets say I want to configure the B button. I left-click the box beside the B, and then I press the blue X button on the controller. Now, the box beside B on the configuration screen is now labelled something like Button [0002].
Even though it looks different, I set up the controller just like I did on the last revision...and every button gave me a response. If I boot Tales of Symphonia back up, the start button will skip the intro movie...but nothing else works.
What happened, and how can this be fixed?
Ubuntu 10.10 x64
AMD Athlon64 dual-core 6000+ 3.1GHz
NVidia GeForce 8600GT
