Quick question about updating

When I update my version of Dolphin, I usually delete the main folder and let the "Dolphin emulator" folder in documents lie.
I'm wondering though, if I should delete that folder as well to avoid possible compatability issues between versions?

No, things get automatically converted to a new format if needed, but they usually stay the same
