First I would like to thank dolphin emulator team for making this possible, I can finally enjoy games that I used to play when I was yonger, my question is do you have any plans to support ps2 games as well, I know there is pcsx2, but the performance on that thing is terrible, im able to play games on dolphin emulator 1440*900p 60 fps perfectly, but on there I cant even get stable 30 fps with graphical bugs, low quality etc.. Thank you again.

We are a Gamecube and Wii emulator. We won't be emulating the Playstation 2.

Obviously someone needs to write a ps2 emulator for the wii, then the devs will be all over each other trying to get it working in Dolphin.

This is a weird question...

PCSX2 runs perfectly fine, provided things are setup correctly.

PCSX2 focus's more on accuracy than visuals, and due to that its more intense, the same will happen as Dolphin becomes more and more accurate too, especially if you consider than a lot of games ran faster in 3.5 than they do now for someone with unchanged specs.

They may be trying to focus on accuracy over speed (which they aren't really but whatever) but they have a lot less attention than Dolphin. Dolphin's had over 5000 improvements since 4.0 (just over a year ago) whereas PCSX2's not had a huge amount of revisions more than that since its initial version (I can't easily get an exact number since they stopped using SVN last year).
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: Intel i5 4670K @3.4GHz... for now @4.6GHz with a quick and dirty (yet stable) OC. May get faster in a bit before the end of time.
RAM: 16GB (Down from 24 GB after some was given to siblings)
GPU: Radeon Vega 56

It's not that they haven't accomplished a lot of changes, or worked on important things, I just find it pretty funny to say they focus on accuracy, when really there doesn't seem to be a global focus on the team. If anything, they're having to clean up and prepare for a push for accuracy and performance right now, which is a good goal for the short term and long term.

I've actually wondered about that..

If they find a way of making something more accurate in dolphin at the cost of 20% or more performance would the developers implement it?

I sometimes worry I won't be able to run future versions on a reasonable PC.

It is still amazing programming skill that has allowed it to get where it is today regardless.
I feel like emulation should be a balance between accuracy and accessibility, so people can relive their childhood nostalgia without too much hassle.

I think it's important because as consoles get older and older it's gets exceedingly hard to find places to obtain them and their games, let alone maintain them. I'm not just talking about dolphin in this regard though.

EDIT: I'm actually mostly concerned because I want to show my theoretical kids in the future all these amazing games from the past. SNES, PS1, N64 and Dolphin goodness..

There's a feature that fixes at least one game that we could add that would make Dolphin about 9 times slower, but haven't.
