Questions About TASing

I have a few questions about TASing in Dolphin. I would like to do some TASing with Project M, and I've gotten the game to run fine, but currently I'm running into problems TASing. I have experience with TASing in PSXJin, but other than that I don't know how to TAS on any other platform. That being said, here are my questions:

1. How do I get a frame counter to show?

This was the most important feature to me when TASing in PSXJin. Knowing how many frames certain things take and whatnot is crutial for TASing. All I know how to get showing so far is the current FPS of the game, which honestly doesn't help me at all.

2. When showing the FPS, I also noticed a Lag counter. How will that effect playback on different computers?

Pretty simple question. I'm asking this because I'm wondering if the lag will effect the inputs in TAS playbacks and what I should do to avoid lag if it does.

3. Is there a "RAM Watch" and "RAM Search" feature in Dolphin?

I know this won't be a huge deal when TASing for non-speedrun purposes, but when speedrunning it would be very useful, which I may do sometime in the future.

That's all the questions I have now. If I run into any more problems I'll post about them in this thread. Honestly, the only thing preventing me from doing an official TAS in Project M is the lack of a frame counter. Once I figure out how to get that shown (which I'm pretty sure it exists in Dolphin) I should be more than happy doing everything else on my own.

1. It's in status/title bar, depending on if you use render to main window.

2. It won't.

3. No, use cheat engine, or somehting similar.

Thanks for the replies, but I have another question:

How do I export the TAS file (.dtm) as a video file to upload?

That's... a lot more complicated. You need to merge in these changes here, recompile dolphin, and enable dump frames, and dump audio. That will give you a video, and audio. The video is vfr, and needs to be converted to cfr. Alternatively, enable dump audio to avi, and the video will be properly converted to cfr automatically. There's more info at http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12601 and http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14192

If you'd like, here's a version if 4.0.2 that includes the avsync patches: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11111638/p/Dolphin-4.0.2-avsync.7z
