I was using a DolphinBar but it seems to be way too sensitive for Wii Boxing. I want to give passthrough a shot, but I notice in it's original announcement the Dolphin crew stated that savestates are not supported. The newest wiki document says savestates are supported with "some limitations." What are those limitations and what does this mean exactly? Does this mean I cannot create a Mii and save any game progress if I am using passthrough?

Savestates are snapshots of the entire system's exact state, independent of normal game saves. They're a lot more convenient than just conventionally saving, but have limitations and bugs and are much less stable than using the game's built in saving.
Assuming you're using Dolphin 5.0-2152 or newer, the save state behavior when using BT passthrough are the following:
![]() TL;DR just remember to disconnect all Wiimotes before creating or loading a save state and it should work fine. You can reconnect the Wiimotes without issues after loading the saved state...
