Question about Zelda

I have tried to play at zelda twilight princess but i have a problem: it don't allow me at use the sword ( i move the controller like it teach in the tutorial phase but nothing happens); it's an emulation problem like mario galaxy ones or I do something of wrong??
If I do something wrong can you teach me how I do for resolve this??
