question about super smash brothers melee

Hi There. A question: ¿Is there a way to play the game in mode adventure or melee with a team of 2 players against the computer? I've seen every way to battle player vs. player, but I can't seem to find a way to make teams. In the game, there's an option named "friendly fire: on - off". So, if there's a friendly fire option, there should be a team players option, right? Anybody knows which opcion is it, or how to unlock it, if it's locked?

Adventure? No.
Melee? Yes.
Click the icon on top of the screen to change to team mode.(when you select characters)
