Question about performance

Hello,

I'm looking into building a computer with a budget of around 400$ CAN, with my main intention being playing Dolphin daily (both GC and Wii games, including some of the more intensive ones as well like SMG2).

I've had this build recommended to me by some friends. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/nwfCVn

I'm wondering if there's any way I can make this build better to perform as well as possible (the main thing I'm looking for is 60FPS consistency, and not IMAX 1440p Virtual Reality-esque quality) without straying too much from the 400$ CAN budget. Additionally, if anything else should be changed in my build, the advice would greatly help me.

Thank you in advance.

admin89,

Thanks for the input. I wasn't really looking to build an ITX unless the price and/or performance in excessively better. Besides, I'm not sure to trust the reliability of used components as I'm looking for longevity with this computer. Any advice?

Those AMD APUs are really bad for dolphin. imo it's worth to buy a cheap but current-gen intel one. For example G3258 is used often.

This build will be WAY better (overclock and it performs like an i5-4690K/i7-4790K): http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/GT4mHx
Enhancements won't go very far because there isn't a dedicated GPU, but you can add that later.
