Question about PAL & NTSC performance

In PCSX2 emulator, PAL offers no performance advantage over NTSC. Getting 50fps with pal is as difficult as getting 60fps in NTSC. Regardless of fps, if you get 90% speed in PAL you will also get around ~ 90% speed in NTSC

I want to know if it is the same case with dolphin emulator, or is it easier to get full speed in PAL version ?

I have never used pcsx2 but I find that extremely difficult to believe because that statement defies the entire logic of how a console emulator works.

PAL should always run faster since the framerate needed to reach fullspeed is lower. 40 fps in the PAL version of a game may be 80% speed (40/50) while the NTSC version of that same game would yield 66% speed (40/60) at that same framerate.

Please show me an example of this. PAL should always be faster unless you have EUR60 mode turned on.

speed on NTSC stayed at 100% most of the time and the PAL was around 70-80

gameplay in large areas such as the great sea PAL went into the 50s and the NTSC was around 75-85

Ah man, Imgur and its bad artifacts...

It looks like the PAL version is running the game on EFB Copies to RAM rather than Texture.
In the ini setting, the game is set to run the game with EFB Copies to RAM.

Right-click on the game in Dolphin, then hit properties.
In the window that pops up, hit edit config, which you can find at the bottom-left of the window.

In the ini file that opens, at the bottom, you should see these three lines:
Code:
EFBAccessEnable = True
EFBToTextureEnable = False
EFBCopyEnable = True
Erase them, save the file, and see if it worked.

My aunt brought it for me when she was in america not knowing about region coding and i brought the PAL UK version from a store so i could actually play it

runs fine after deleting that from the config, havent tested gameplay yet as i have no save for it but seems it will perform well now

Not to mention you ran the game in two separate spots in the game where the fps/speed would be different. That was kinda pointless.
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1
CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1)
RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333

In the PAL version the speed never hit 100% and usually stayed around 75-80 until i deleted those lines from the config, after that the intro ran at 98% lowest and ingame went to 95% (yet to test great sea)
