It worked for me once. I've been trying everything for the last day to duplicate it but I can't. I extracted one of the newest releases to its own folder and ran mkdd, altering no settings. Since it was in its own new folder there is zero chance lle was enabled as the rom dumps weren't even there. Played through the first two races and audio never stopped. Every subsequent attempt to duplicate that result has failed. I think the wiki does indeed need to be corrected.

Actually, delroth went all crazy again and is doing stuff we never dreamed up of (well, we knew it was possible, but he's the first to do it). As of 3.5-1031, delroth has committed new reverse-engineered DSP ROM files that work with both the Zelda and AX ucodes, and they come with each Dolphin download. The old ones only worked with Zelda ucode games (there aren't that many, but MK-DD is one). Though LLE isn't enabled by default for MK-DD, it's still pretty big news that for a majority of games, you don't need to dump from your consoles anymore. From a preservation point of view, that significant since hardware doesn't last forever.

At any rate, fwiw, the Zelda ucode files haven't been touched in a while, so it's possible this issue's resolution was a fluke, or the wiki was edited too soon without thorough testing.
