Game modifications generally vary from game to game and there isn't any one size fits all guide for doing it.

Your best bet is to see if there is a modding community for the game and asking there.

Well there doesn't seem to be modding communitys for it so i guess ill try that program because im not editing the files themselves im just tinkering with replacing them with files from another game with very similar files

Ive had no luck with anything but now i'm wondering how to Open .ddf .dlf .dsf .elf .gcp
