Forgive my English mistakes, I'm brazilian. Undecided

Does Dolphin have Quad-core CPU support? Huh

I'm thinking about buying a Phenom II X4 940, and I want to know if its four cores will have some impact in the emulator's performance. ]

It works on quad cores, but it won't be beneficial.

Thanks for the answer Wink

Do you know if they are working on a Quad-core support later on the future?

I am thinking about buying a Phenom II x4 940 or a E8400, maybe a E8500.

Which one of these three processors would give the best results on Dolpihin?

Get an e8400 and overclock it. Quad core support will never come in the future. It is incredibly hard to split a single core ppc into multiple cores. Also, it's only dual core because of one wii cpu and one wii gpu. You can't split those anymore.

Hmm... I will buy a Phenom II X4 940 and overclock it...

Although E8400 may get better results on Dolphin, the AM3 Socket and DDR3 will give a longer lifespan to the system, and newer games will present better quad-core support. I won't build my PC just for emulation, after all...

Anyway, thanks for your help!

Pick whatever platform has more support and lifetime, it looks like Intel is trying too hard to ditch the socket 775 already, i'd advise you to go for the Phenom II 940 (even if it's against my own standards to buy quadcores for other than servers).
