I might have to consider getting the Vita at some point, but I'll wait a while.

im with star scream too. id like to buy it for its technical specifications. its pretty impressive lol. i stopped buying nintendos products after gamecube since they went down a weird path. no hate comments but this is what i think. nintendos specs became so weak after gamecube O.o. i mean im not a graphics whore, but i dont like playing games that look like they were made in 2005. the only game i actually wanted to play was sonic colors so i got dolphin for that

I don't have the first PSP but yes I would be interested in getting this one because of great specs as you said. Games will decide me. I've been waiting for hits Wink

The reason I'd take Vita would be for the nice graphics and awesome exclusives, like Uncharted. Still, I don't know how much it cost in relation to other devices in North America, but here if I had the money to buy a Vita I'd just take a tablet with NVidia Tegra 2 or 3 that does more and is equally good..

The 3DS on the other hand has its value as a Nintendo console, which is different not only for the games but for the entire style, and the 3D thing helps a little. Plus it has two screens, I don't know, somehow I see the 3DS more as a videogame than the Vita, which seems to me to be the same kind of product as a tablet or super phone..
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit Creators Update
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960 @ 3.6 GHz
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3 AM3+ Revision
RAM: HyperX 8GB Dual Channel @ 1600Mhz

First rule when you buy electronics - don't be zombified by advertising and don't buy something when it's new, hot, overpriced and full of bugs and hardware design flaws. For game consoles add lack of good games here.

I use my old PSPs for everything while I'm on travel (one Phat and one Slim)
I have installed custom firmware on both and can play all my old PSX titles almost perfect. And the SNES and GBA collection of course with Snes9XTyl and gPSP.

Why anyone would want a PSP Go or a PSP Vita is beyond me. There's ton of cool stuff you can do with the old ones and only boring stuff with the new ones.

Until it get's hacked yes. But I'm sure people will do fine with the native games that come out on the Vita.

Yeah I guess so.
The model before PSP Go, PSP-3000 was virtually unhackable for a long time with only a temporary hack available, ChickHEN.
I remember buying one in 2009 only to be disappointed...
But the ChickHEN hack is really simple for the older ones for permanent CFW.

But I have to admit that the old PSP had some really good time killing games while on the go for example Star Wars Force Unleashed, Lunar Silverstar Harmony and Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles.
Those games is the old PSP for me. But being able to play PSX games is what made it more fun.

Castlevania Symphony of the Night
Alundra
Crash Bandicoot Collection
Resident Evil 2 & 3
Lunar 1 & 2
Silent Hill
Syphon Filter
Mega Man 8
Mega Man X 4-6

Just to name a few classics.

I'm only hoping for a future Castlevania game or compilation like Dracula X Chronicles but with more games.
A 2D Castlevania today is probably to good to be true, but the GBA and SNES ones plays really good on the old PSPs.
