I downloaded dolphin in the summer, my ps4 controller worked fine with it. I tried using my ps4 controller again after not playing for a few months, but the inputs aren't being read or detected. I downloaded a newer beta version to test it out and the same thing happened. I configured my controller just fine before, but now I can't figure it out (I played with two different controllers and they worked out fine before). Can someone help me?

Hi polyesterfranks,

does windows recognize the Dualshock 4 inputs?
Check in Windows system config: Devices and printers. Select the controller from the list of installed game controllers and click on the Properties button.
Finally, click on the "Test" tab and you can now test the corresponding controller. Does the Input appear?

I made the experience, that I was able to connect DS4 via USB-cable just fine. Everything worked.
When trying to connect the DS4 via bluetooth to windows a newer DS4 worked fine. With newer I mean the one which came with the PS4 Pro which has a small light bar above the touch panel. When connected the light bar turned on.
An older DS4 (without the light bar above the touch panel) connected successfully to windows via bluetooth, but the light bar stayed off and windows did not register any inputs (testet the way mentioned above).

My solution was to install DS4Windows https://ryochan7.github.io/ds4windows-site/
With that both DS4s inputs are recognised correctly and they work with dolphin just fine.

I would be interested if there is a difference in DS4 Versions and compatibility to windows (via bluetooth). If anyone knows more about that...
I would prefer to use my DS4 native as DInput Controllers instead of XInput what DS4Windows convert the controllers to. The reason is that I want to connect more than 4 controller to windows.

Let me know if that helped you polyesterfranks, even your post is a little bit old.
