Hello guys.
I've recently got Dolphin emulator specifically to play Mario Party 9. The game works ok. There is an issue though. I have no Wii controllers. So I used a DS4(Playstation 4 controller) to play wii game. But the IR, Tilt, and Swing options in the emulation controller settings are confusing me. I've tried several options and doesn't seem to work in some games.

I've manage to attach the IR to my right stick so It works pretty much like a mouse and works fine on aiming games and such. I've got Shake to my L1 button which works in alot of games like Logger Heads mini-game and such. My R stick is for the Swing and Tilt options, was the best I could find. And works fine is alot of games, I can turn like in Chain Event mini-game, I can jump on Ring Leader mini-game, it seems to work ok in some games. The only thing I have to do some times to not get confused is use my controller in a vertical position so I don't get confused. Depends on the game though, some are with Horizontal some are with Vertical, I believe that is because that's how Wii's controller works so when you have to switch it's position, in the PS4 one it changes its buttons to like inverted and such.

But some games simply do not works. 2 I remember are ''Don't look'' which simply asks you to tilt or in this case press the button for the required tilt to turn away the face. No matter how much I try it it doesn't respond. Just nothing happens. The only one that does is the Shake button which makes the toon look always to the left, which isn't too helpful. Another one that doesn't work is "Bumper Sparks". It's all messed up, it feels like the controls are switching mid game, it's just really hard lol.

So I'm kind of clueless. I've only tried this 1 day and haven't found anyone with configurations for Mario Party 9, So I've been trying on my own. Anyone out there has a configuration for the DS4 on Mario Party 9? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi I have the same problem too. Have you found any solution? It pains me to play the game while not able to play some mini games.

I knew you had problems with that Mario Party 9 minigame. Well, I understand, I was frustrated with that for a long time, but after several attempts, I finally found the solution. This guide will help you. However, you will have to pause each round when you see the arrows on the screen and make the corresponding settings so as not to fail in any round. I would suggest you share this immediately, and if possible, also put it on the Dolphin wiki (only if you want). Here it goes:

Settings for the shake in the minigame "Do not look there":

Tip: If you use more than one key for any of the following cases, it is advisable to always use the same key (I use the "3" key).

Look down or up:

X = Nothing
Y = Any key
Z = Any key

Tip: To look down, make a long touch, and to look up, touch and release quickly.

Look to the left

X = Any key
Y = Any key
Z = Any key

Look to the right

X = Any key
Y = Nothing
Z = Any key
