So I am trying to make the move to linux. Anyone know a way to use a ps3 controller emulated as the 360 controller? Like motioninjoy for Linux. I tried installing some software like qtsixa but I couldn't figure out how to make it work.

The PS3 controller works perfectly wired via USB (it's a hassle to set it up wirelessly via qtsixa). The Linux kernel should see it as a regular HID device, so it shouldn't be an issue getting it to work. I've gotten it to work flawlessly on Slackware 13.37 (kernel version 2.6.37.6). The only things that don't work via USB are the accelerometers and haptic functions (rumbling). From what I've heard, current kernel modules don't handle those two correctly yet, and if Linux can't work out how haptic functions are supposed work on a device, then SDL can't use it either.

In short, if you just want to use it as a regular controller (sans rumbling) just plug it in. Wink

What do you mean by emulate a 360 controller? Dolphin only emulates GC and Wii controllers.

If what you were trying to say is "Is there no way to connect a 360 controller to Dolphin in Linux?" then the answer is no, you can easily connect your 360 controller. Again, the easiest way is via USB. The 360 controller under Linux does support haptics (bought mine just for that) and it's pretty much perfect. You need a wireless adapter from Microsoft if you're using a wireless controller, as I don't recall it working via Bluetooth. Nevertheless, it's still possible to use it under Linux (for more info, google something like "wireless 360 Linux").
