PS3 controller issue

Hi, my phone is ONEPLUS 3T. I have flashed ElementalX Kernel, so I can use OTG to connect PS3 controller. I also can use Sixaxis Controller app to connect PS3 controller wirelessly. But there are some problems in both methods.

When connecting with OTG:

In NGC games, the D-Pad Right key responds very slowly. Pressing the R Trigger key can trigger the D-Pad Right action. In WII games, I map my PS3 controller to Classic extension. Besides the above problems, pushing the Left Stick right can bring out the Home menu.

When connecting wirelessly:

The D-Pad responding is ok, but other problems still exists.

My 2 PS3 controllers both have the same problem, and they work fine in other android games and PC Dolphin Emulator. So I am sure the hardware is not broken. I am also sure my key mapping is correct since the same mapping works flawlessly in PC Dolphin. I have disabled WII controllers when play NGC games, and vice versa. Is it possible to fix these issues in future? Thanks.

Hi,
Sixaxis is actually your better option . The controller takes your system bt mac address and initiates true sync . You cant see it on a ps3 controller because it lacks an indicator like the dualshock 4 lightbar but its the same tech . Additionally you gain access to features like analog polling and remapping/disabling from within the app. And u can use 4 at once alledgedly .....i only can confirm 2 . i dont know why your right dpad is slow, did you change the ps3 mac address with sixaxis pair tool on pc ? that step would be crucial. it has to be an identical mac address as device your syncing too for it to sync like it does on your sony.


The app can actually pair my ps4 controller now but it required it be reset and i dont think a ps3 controller has that button on it. It would not pair my ds4 controller with my ps4 address on it, but like i said dualshock has reset button that clears it .....i cant remeber its been a minute since i had ps3 but i dont think it had the reset button

wow analogs are triggering physical buttons bro ? you definetly did not pair with pc then. Is it an option ? I know your controller connects but its not supposed to connect through your systems bluetooth thats not how sony bluetooth works. Most bluetooth is master/slave protocol, but not sony. sony takes same mac address as system and is treated as extension of system . its far supperior to the default protocol but you got to have same mac as device you want sync with.

Btw a gamecube controller doesnt have a home button, nor is there an emulated one so thats hardware issue and not the fault of emulator. The emulator doesnt handle pairing/syncing of any controllers so the emulator can not fix your problem. I might be wrong man,obviously you know your phone/controller better than i ever could but, it sounds like you havent synced correctly with your android device.

1. Actually when connecting with Sixaxis Controller, all D-Pad keys function well. The abnormal responding of D-Pad Right key only occurs in OTG connection.

2. Only when playing WII games, pushing the Left Stick right triggers the Home button action. I also found if I clear the Home button binding, this problem will not happen.

3. I also found during OTG connection, when mapping the D-Pad Right key, if I press the psychical key and hold, the key will be mapped as Axis 37+, and pressing the R Trigger will not trigger the FORWARD action. But in this case I also have to press the psychical Right key hardly to activate its function, making the operation not very comfortable. When mapping the D-Pad Right key, if I tap the psychical key, then the above mentioned crazy key responding and redundant key activation will occur.

Whether connecting with OTG or Sixaxis Contorller, My PS3 controller works well in other Apps and emulators. So I think maybe this issue is within the emulator code itself. Really hope the developer can fix it in future.
