Dolphin has worked wonders for me ever since I started using it. I was able to connect my PS3 controller and use it to play games emulating a GameCube controller and it works really smoothly. However, there is one issue that I can't seem to troubleshoot and I was wondering if there's a way to fix it.
In the image below, you can see I have set my PS3's analog stick radius to match that of the GameCube's.
However, the PS3 controller seems to use a vector-based analog system, i.e. when it detects input from the X and Y axes, it adds them together to form a vector on a square plane, instead of forming a radius like the GameCube controller appears to do. The result, pictured in the image below, is that diagonal inputs exceed the radius of the GameCube controller.
For the most part this doesn't really cause any issues, but I've noticed in some games the diagonal input being more sensitive can throw me off, and others don't even recognize input beyond that of the GameCube controller's radius in certain sections, meaning I have to reduce the distance I press the stick in which can be really annoying if I have to rotate the stick quickly.
There doesn't appear to be a method to convert square stick input to circular, at least to my knowledge. Is there any way to do so? And if there is with certainty no available method, should I request such a feature to the Dolphin team?
Thank you!
