I'm new to dolphin and all, but I couldn't find much of this on the internet.

I've got some .iso games I ripped from my friend's and got NUSDownloader Wii menu/Mii channel .wad files and could load them normally through Dolphin, and also used crap 3.3b to create .wad files of the .iso games and installed them on the wii's grid menu.

Thing is, channel switching isn't working for me. I can't boot any of the .wad installed (mii channel, .iso shortcuts) as it will "load" and then just go back to the intro animation of the wii's menu and stay on it again.

Am I missing anything in the proccess like a downloadable file or a custom setting?

Yes, by installing only the System Menu and some specific channels, you are missing *tons* of required system titles.

Use the latest development version (*not* 5.0), select Tools > Perform Online System Update and then try again. It should work after doing this. Note that forwarder channels will not work because they rely on custom firmware, which Dolphin does not / cannot currently emulate.

Thanks for the heads up!

Is the development version stable or is there anything that I should worry about?

The development builds tend to be more stable than "stable" because we suck at releasing.

Hahaha

Thanks a lot for the reply!

I'm so new on this community but I see why Dolphin is still the most loved emulator all there.

You guys deserve all the love you get!

I use the dev version and tried to use the Wii menu too, but then it asks me to choose a system language. But it stucks there, can't select the language tho (I think it freezes). Is there a way to fix that?

Have you configured the ir sensor?

If you don't want to emulate the IR sensor (which I'm pretty sure is the only way to navigate the menus), I think the Classic Controller also works.
